As the Wisconsin days get longer, the weather gets warmer, albeit rainier; it marks the time for a welcomed spring break in many area schools.
For the teacher candidates (TC) of Cohort 17, it is crunch time! The insights, experiences and goals from the previous semesters, and their previous lives, are all merging as they take a large step in many key areas:
For the teacher candidates of Cohort 18, we are less than 2 months from starting the journey. Accepted applicants are finalizing entry requirements and scholarship applications. The areas of English and Social Studies are putting a hold on new applications. They have reached their capacity and will only review new applications for this cohort if space becomes available.
Within the program, we are arranging the summer field sites for the community-based practicum and will soon be sending TC’s a survey to help us pair them with a fruitful experience. We are also talking with potential cooperating teachers for the 2017-18 school year.
Cohort 19 and beyond… If you are considering the UW-Madison Secondary Education program as your pathway to becoming a certified teacher, we welcome the chance to answer questions you may have. Please feel free to reach out. firstname.lastname@example.org
The application portal will open in early June, 2017 for folks intending to be part of our cohort starting in June, 2018
